365 Project – 45 : I got lei’d for Valentine’s Day! ;) (February 14, 2012)

Shutter Speed: 1/640, Aperture: F3.5, ISO: 100

My thoughtful hubby is working on the opposite part of the planet, so no romantic Valentine’s date for us today but, he had fresh flower leis delivered to our condo, for me and my daughter. So, so sweeeet! 🙂 This gorgeous lei was made entirely of purple and white orchids, which happen to be my favorite flower. I had actually never had a fresh flower lei, only those plastic ones at some hula-themed party. How they crafted those orchids into this lei is amazing. I thanked him for the “lei”…to which of course when I see him next he is looking forward to his…well, enough said! 😉 Happy Valentine’s Day from Hawaii!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I took this photo at Dungeness Spit (Sequim, WA) a few months ago and thought I’d save it for my Valentine’s Day post. But, I’m in Hawaii now so I’ll work on posting a tropical heartilicious photo lay-tah. 😉

Happy Valentine’s Day! (in black and white…and color)

Nora has been busy making valentines for her preschool sweethearts while we’re here in Chile. She was not interested in posing with one of her valentines but, she agreed to hold one for me. I used a Photoshop Elements 8.0 Effect (reverse black & white) which was new to me. I applied the effect, which made the entire photo black and white, then I only clicked on the area I wanted to color. So easy! I’m still getting to know PSE so this was a fun effect to discover! I like the black and white version of the photo better. The original photo in color is also posted below.
