Port Angeles sunset with fire haze – magenta halo with Nikon D7000

2015-firehaze-sunset-haloHey shutterbugs!  Anyone have tips on removing the magenta halo around sunset shots?  I have tried the natural and vivid picture settings and this halo shows up with both settings.  Appreciate the help! – Amelia

365 Project – 138: Fiery sunset sky (May 18, 2013)

I know I post a lot of sunset photos but, I find them stunning and I’m fortunate enough to have a decent sunset view from our house.  I took this the other night when the sun burst through the clouds with fiery oranges and pinks.  This photo doesn’t really do justice to how magnificent the sunset really was, but, you can at least see how it lit the whole sky on fire.  🙂

I took these while driving through Waimea on the Big Island, which is also called cowboy country, or paniolo. The reflection of the setting sun is on the Pacific Ocean. If I were a cow, this is where I’d want to live. 🙂
