A quaint window garden from a Greenwich Village brownstone. Manhattan is bathed in sun, clear blue skies and warm temps. It’s a great time to be in New York! 🙂
The best part of our morning was sleeping in! 10am here, 7am back in Port Angeles. It’s been fun cramming in exciting New York activities but remembering to chillax on vacation is top priority for us too!
So, not a lot of photos since cameras weren’t allowed during the matinee showing of Cirque de Soleil’s Zarkana in Radio City Music Hall. It just felt like a classic New York experience being in Radio City Music Hall and I flashed back to seeing the Rockettes with my parents for one of their Christmas shows 35 years ago. It felt nostalgic coming back with my hubby and daughter, although Zarkana was definitely contemporary and wowed us all. There were a ton of families treating themselves to the spectacular acrobatic musical extravaganza.
Afterwards we hung around Rockefeller Center shopping, window shopping and people watching. So convenient, and smart, that stores like Lego and American Girl Place are mixed in with all the popular retail stores. And, although I’m not a big shopper, the air-conditioned stores were a welcome respite from the summer heat. We definitely were in full-on tourist mode today but, now we’re ending it with Nora playing Legos and me reading my book in peace and quiet. Balancing the fun and chillaxing…that’s what vacation is all about! 🙂
On Park Avenue…heading to Central Park. Brownstones like a scene from “Sex and the City.” Working girl hailing a cab while using her iPhone and Mamma Mia billboard on the bus behind her. Thad and Nora in front if The Plaza (no, we are NOT staying there! ), Nora in the lobby of The Plaza . Showing her where “Eloise” lived. 😉
Dinner at Bobby Flay’s “Bar Americain” and tix to “Mamma Mia”. I am in heaven! Summer vacay in New York…lovin it! 🙂
