365 Project – 226: Chillaxing at Manitou Lodge – La Push, WA (August 19, 2012)

Near La Push, Washington and Rialto Beach is a sweet bed and breakfast hidden in the enchanted forest of the Quileute Valley called Manitou Lodge. They have cozy lodge rooms and clean, rustic cottages. You can even go “glamping” in one of their two “upscale camping” sites where they set up a tent for you, with sleeping pads, sleeping bags, and pillows, on a private site with a picnic table, fire pit with grill. They even give you a complimentary s’mores kit. We stayed in one of their smaller rustic cottages, Outback Too, since we were looking for a fast and rustic getaway after work on Friday. We chose this place since it was dog-friendly and we just happened to luck out because there was a cancellation when we called a few days ago. Because we had unexpected rain, we were doubly grateful that we booked this cute cottage instead of pitching our tent. Plus, Mora Campground was full when we arrived anyway! It’s a relaxing, wilderness getaway, including a large wrap-around covered porch with these comfy swings that Nora adored. If your destination is La Push, Rialto Beach, First Beach, Second Beach, Third Beach, Ruby Beach or even Forks, you should consider Manitou Lodge when booking your trip!
