365 Project – 218: Governor’s Island and the Statue of Liberty (New York City) (August 13, 2012)

Shutter Speed: 1/2000, Aperture: F/7.1, ISO: 400

Erected between 1807 and 1811, Castle Williams on Governor’s Island was created to protect New York City’s inner harbor. See the cannon pointing towards Manhattan, while the beautiful Statue of Liberty gazes peacefully towards the island? I grew up with that view of the Statue of Liberty from our Governor’s Island military housing. It was a privilege. 🙂  Click here for more about Castle Williams.

The good, the bad, the ugly...I can take it. Talk at me! :)
