365 Project – 126: Bubbly, bursting blueberries (May 5, 2012)

Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: F/4.0, ISO: 800 (Scene mode: FOOD)

Shutter Speed: 1/160, Aperture: F/2.2, ISO: 400

As an experiment I used two different settings, one with the D5000′s FOOD scene mode, and another using manual settings with a shallower DOF. For the second photo, taken in manual mode, the white balance was set to AUTO. It’s actually not an apples to apples comparison since the first photo is of the muffin on a pottery plate while the other is still in the pan. Maybe there’s too much blue from the dark gray muffin pan? The FOOD scene photo seems warmer and maybe more appealing with a slightly deeper DOF, which picks up the flecks of lemon from the lemon glaze. In this case, I prefer the pic shot using the FOOD scene setting. Which one do you like better?

Blueberries…according to 5 1/2 year old Nora

=====================================================

I thought Thad might be behind Nora’s recent blueberry expertise but, apparently she came up with these blueberry findings all on her own.  She seriously may have invented the term blueberry veins!  You heard it first here!  LOL

It was so cute I interviewed her and made this video.  Hmm…maybe it’s time for Nora to start her own blog! ;)

NOTE:  I googled “blueberry veins” and just found out that blueberries boost energizing flow to get rid of varicose veins.  So, there IS a connection between blueberries and veins…but, still, I think “blueberry veins” is a Nora original!!!  LOL  Listen and learn!
