During the busyness of hosting family and friends in for the Juan de Fuca Festival we took the time to hike at the Elwha River, check out the transformation after the Elwha dam removal, and enjoy eating some ripe salmon berries. These simple pleasures are one of those freedoms we probably take furgranted of…that we can walk in peace through the forest without fear. In the vein of remembering to appreciate these simple pleasures and the freedoms we have in the United States, I am grateful for all those soldiers that have made sacrifices in the name of peace and freedom. And, I’ll leave it at that to stop myself from spinning this into a political post. Peace and gratitude to all of you this Memorial Day.
